The kidney disease crisis in Mexico is reaching catastrophic levels—and it continues to grow. According to the Federal Ministry of Health, over 14 million people suffer from kidney disease, and 1.5 million more are at serious risk of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD). This silent epidemic is now one of the country’s leading causes of death and disability, driven largely by rising rates of diabetes and hypertension, which are devastating countless lives.
Access to lifesaving treatments—like dialysis and kidney transplants—is dangerously unequal. Many communities, especially those outside major urban centers, lack the infrastructure to offer timely, adequate care. Patients are often diagnosed too late, and even then, have no access to the treatment that could extend or save their lives.
This is why our mission matters. In San Miguel de Allende, the need is urgent and personal. As kidney disease takes a growing toll on our community, the current healthcare resources are simply not enough. With just two existing clinics, demand for dialysis far exceeds availability—leaving many to suffer in silence or travel long distances to survive.
We have a solution—but we need your help. With your support, we will build a new dialysis clinic equipped with seven Gambro hemodialysis machines, dramatically expanding our capacity to treat patients in need. This facility will provide at least 126 hemodialysis sessions per week, bringing hope and health to dozens of lives each month.
Our fundraising goal is $80,000. Every ticket purchased for the We Are the Children Charity Gala brings us closer to making this clinic a reality. This isn’t just a project—it’s a lifeline. Your generosity will help us give the gift of time, dignity, and survival to those who need it most.
Together, we can build more than a clinic—we can build a future.
